First.

First entry.
I never really know how to start these out.
Orientation is next monday. I'm a little nervous because 80% of these students will be eighteen and with their parents. I know one girl, but not really. Maybe I'll see her there so I won't look like the awkward girl on her bb because she doesn't know how to be social anymore.
Oh, I'm quite excited about female companionship and i really really hope most my friends will be gay.
Would it be really weird to take pictures of the school during orientation? Would that make me look more awkward? Or maybe like a total n00b.
I don't quite know what this blog is going to consist of.
I want to document this next year.
I want to be able to regurgitate what I learn in class.
I can't wait to learn about fabric. textiles. I hear it's one of the hardest class - but it's soo worth it.

Background story will come later. Maybe.

Right now, here's the list of my classes (and their descriptions) for fall '10.

  • MPDV1800: A flat sketching class for line development, line sheets, and specification sheets. Students learn basic drawing skills for garment illustration and the correct terminology used for identifying design details on garments. (not too pumped for this class. at least sketches are done on the computer)
Friday: off

Yeup. I'm pretty stoked.
I hope students who are thinking about going to FIDM understand exactly how much hard work is involved. From what I hear, we should be saying goodbye to our social life now.  Thankfully I'm already a hermit so this should be no problem. This year I'm going to prove to myself I won't slack off.
